EXPERTISE

I have extensive and broad clinical experience, having been a doctor since 2007 and a Consultant since 2015. I am a practising NHS Consultant in Acute Medicine at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As an acute medicine expert witness, I provide expert care in the Medical Admissions Unit, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit, Ambulatory Care Unit, Emergency Department, Level One higher care unit, via telephone triage and on medical wards. Additionally, I am a trained Serious Incident Investigator.

I also have expertise in clinical informatics and Information Governance as a Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), Clinical Safety Officer, and Caldicott Guardian. My role includes providing services as a clinical negligence expert, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance.

Having completed Bond Solon expert witness training, I maintain CPD in this area and have been assessed as a Certified Expert Witness with the Expert Witness Institute. I have extensive experience producing medicolegal expert reports in a variety of settings, which include civil and criminal litigation cases (claimant and defendant), reports for Coronial inquests, and professional regulatory proceedings. My work also involves presenting and successfully defending reports in Court across the English, Scottish, Northern Irish, and Irish jurisdictions, making me a reliable general medicine expert witness.

Abdominal pain can often be evaluated by an acute medicine expert witness to determine the underlying issues. Additionally, acute back pain may be linked to various causes that a general medicine expert witness could assess. Conditions such as acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease require thorough investigation, particularly in cases of medical negligence. As an acute medicine expert witness, I can deliver a concise screening report or a full Court compliant Breach of Duty and Causation report as needed. Additionally, I see patients for Condition and Prognosis and Life Expectancy reports, contributing to my role as a clinical negligence expert. Fee estimates and Terms and Conditions will be provided in advance of any work being undertaken.

The current report turnaround time is 1 to 2 weeks following receipt of the final bundle, but more urgent needs can usually be accommodated.
